By default, Notion Invoice automatically generates the invoice date and due date for you.

The invoice date is set to the day you create the invoice, and the invoice is due according to the number of days you set in the template.

If you want to override either of these dates, and set a specific invoice date or due date manually, then you can add additional properties to your invoices table and select them in the invoice template.

Adding the invoice date manually

  1. In your invoices table, create a new Date property. You can name it anything you want, e.g. “Invoice date”.

    set invoice date.png

  2. Now edit your invoice template, and select the property you just created. You can see the settings for invoice and due date properties at the bottom of the Invoice information section. Don’t forget to save the template!

    set invoice date2.png

  3. In your new invoice in Notion, set the invoice date to the date that should be displayed in the invoice. The example below shows the invoice date being set to June 1, 2023.

    set invoice date3.png

  4. View the invoice in Notion Invoice. You should see your manual invoice date appear in the invoice. The due date will be calculated as manual invoice date + number of days until payment is due.

    set invoice date5.png

Adding the due date manually

The process is the same. Follow the steps above, but this time for a new Date property to hold the manual due date.
